Wise Owl Rag Bag

Once again sorry for taking so long to post something new but I have been busy working on my entries for this months Papertrey Gueststar Stamper contest. This is one of the things that I came up with.

As you know 2 of my favorite things are stamping and quilting. I have been wanting to make a rag bag like this one for a while now but had no idea how to go about it since she did not share a pattern. After some searching I found a pattern for how to make them here. I made a few changes to my handles and closure though. I started by stamping images from Alli Miles Wise Owl and Wise Owl Bellie sets with Palette Perfect Match Dark Chocolate Ink on white cotton fabric. Then I colored them in with my Copic sketch markers. I quickly learned that you have to have a very light touch when you color with them on fabric or they will bleed but if you lightly color with them they work great. There are a total of 6 owl squares on this bag and each one is different. I love that you can customize the owls in this set. When I was done creating my owl squares I went to work piecing together the rest of the bag. I got the other patterned fabric here and I would highly recommend it. The fabric is fantastic and Cynthia is a pleasure to deal with too. I think I may make more bags and quilts like this in the future with other stamped images and try and sell them in my Etsy shop. Anyways let me know if you have any questions. I am happy to try and answer them. I will be back tomorrow with my other entry. Until then thanks for stopping by and have a good night.

I love this! I have been stamping for years and a friend just got me hooked on quilting. I've been trying to figure out how to combine the two and I think this is a great idea.
