May Papertrey Bloghop

Happy Friday! Today is the May Papertrey Bloghop.
This month the challenge was this photo
This is what I came up with. The Invitation
The Menu
The first thing I thought of when I saw this photo was matching invitations and a menu to go with that beautiful table setting. I found the menu on this website where the photo came from. I wanted to use the Table Service Stamp set but didn't have it so I improvised. I have since bought it though and it is on it's way to me for future use. Thanks Carol!
I started with a Simply Chartreuse Base and embossed it with the linen impression plate. Next I added digital pattern papers, computer generated the text on both and embossed them with a Damask Embossing folder. I created the plates from more patterned paper and circles. The utensils were made using a cut file. Finally I finished it off by making the 3D Hydrangea flowers using this tutorial. The flowers are greener in real life but here is a close up photo of them and the embossing

I also made a matching envelope box and lined it with more checkerboard paper. You can find the tutorial for how to make one here

I look forward to seeing what everyone else has come up with on Nicole's blog now. I hope the your holiday weekend is a great one and as always thanks for stopping by.

An Update And A Sailboat

Happy Monday! It has been a busy few weeks here that is why the lack of posts. Right after I last wrote I was surprisingly overwhelmed with Etsy orders all at once. One of which was the biggest order I have ever done. Thankfully I am almost caught up now. These are a few of the custom ones.
I have also been having problems with my Silhouette. After using it for a few months I noticed was not cutting as well as it did when I first got it so I ordered a new blade. Unfortunately that did not fix the problem so Silhouette sent me another one. Same problem so I called Silhouette customer service again but they were not being helpful. I finally got a supervisor on the phone and he was able to help me. After receiving a third replacement blade last week it is cutting right again. On top of that a few weeks ago I upgraded to the Silhouette Design Studio and found out you cannot open new SVG files or saved ones in the size they were designed in. You have to re size them. Not good especially when you don't know how big they are suppose to be. Silhouette has been made aware of the problem though and have said they are going to try and fix it.
Today I want to share with you this cute little Sailboat invitation that I started a few weeks ago and finally finished last night.
The base was cut out of Stampers Select White cardstock with my Silhouette using the Sailboat shaped card file from The Cutting Cafe. I decorated it with striped patterned paper from the I Like Stripes Digital Paper Pack. Even though I was initially disappointed with the Silhouette Designer Studio SVG problem after playing around with it some more I discovered the print and cut feature which I love and that is how I designed the life preserver and your invited sentiment. I also designed the inside using SDS too. This is what it looks like.
I finished it off with some embossing, spring rain gingham ribbon and some die cut stars that I colored with Copics.
I was also able to try a new recipe on Friday that I wanted to share with you. We all loved them.
You can get the recipe here. That's all for now I hope to be back Friday with a project for this months Papertrey Bloghop. Until then I hope your week is a great one.
