Etsy 10 Day Challenge Day 7

Happy Sunday everyone. I hope your weekend is going well. Unfortunately I didn't get any time to stamp yesterday because I ended up on the phone with Apple Tech support for 2 hours about my Iphone. I tried to download an album through the ITunes store on my Iphone Tuesday while I was on the treadmill but discovered I didn't get the whole thing yesterday. I finally got the problem resolved after all that but by then my stamping time was gone. Hopefully I will get some time to stamp today though.

Today I am listing this card
I have never shared it here before though because I made it before I had a blog. The background was made with the Faux Fabric technique and the images from The Angel Company were colored in with prismacolor pencils and gamsol. You can see the full listing here.

The other sellers listing I am featuring today is from The Paper Flower Shop. This is one of my favorite cards from her. I especially love the color combo she used. She has lots of other great cards for fathers day too so be sure to check out her shop. You can view the full listing and the rest of her shop here
That's it for now. I will be back tomorrow with day 8 of the challenge. Until then have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

Etsy 10 Day Challenge Day 4

First off there were a couple of questions asked in the comments section in the last post about the Wood Veneer. Because of that I am thinking about doing a video about it to answer those questions and to show you some of the cool things you can do with it. Would any of you be interested in seeing something like that?
It is going to be a busy day here today. I just got done doing my sister and nieces nails. After I finish writing this post Emilia and I have to do school then I hope to get some more reorganizing of the rooms we switched done later so I am going to try and keep the rest of this short.
Today I am relisting a card that I have shared here before in this post. This time I am listing it with a matching envelope that I made using the formula that Lauren Meader provided here for making custom envelopes. You can see the full listing here.

The other sellers listing that I am sharing today is from Jemily This is one of my favorite items from her shop. I especially like the patterned cardstock she used on this card. She is also a stamper too. You can see the full listing and the rest of the items in her shop here.
I will be back tomorrow with day 5 of the challenge. Until then I hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

Etsy 10 Day Challenge Day 3

For those of you that read my blog you know that I have become a big fan of using Wood Veneer. Here are a few samples of my work with it that I have shared here before incase you have not seen them.

The Kimono card was also just published in the Summer Issue of Rubber Stamp Maddness Magazine. It was my first time being published so it was very exciting for me to see one of my cards in print.
Pat The Wood Veneer Man and I have teamed up to sell the Veneer. So my listing for today is a sample pack of it.
You get all this to play with. As you can see from the samples there is a lot you can do with it and this is a really good way to give it a try. You can see the full listing here Now on to the other Etsy Sellers item that I am promoting today they are these pretty gift tags from Anastasia's shop You can see the full listing and the rest of her shop here
I was able to make some progress on the room switch yesterday hopefully I will get some more done later. For now I am off to finish school with Emilia again. I will be back tomorrow with Day 4 of the challenge. Until then I hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

Etsy 10 Day Challenge Day 2

Today I am listing this card
I orginally shared it on my blog here but have never listed it until now. You can see the full listing here.

The item I have picked to promote today is this one from Pinky Creations.
Isn't that monkey cute? You can see the full listing here

It rained here most of the day yesterday. Thankfully it has stopped for now but I bet there will be more later. Over the weekend we started to move Emilia's room upstairs. Rich got the painting done on Saturday and the big furniture moved in on Sunday. I am still in the process of moving all the toys upstairs which has been rather stressful because I have a hard time getting rid of things. I am off to finish school with Emilia and then I will contiue moving stuff upstairs. I hope you have a good day and I will be back with more things to share for the challenge tomorrow.

May Papertrey Blog Hop

First off happy Memorial Day. I hope you are all having a good one. It has been cool and rainy for the last few days here so we have not been able to enjoy much outside time. Hopefully all the rain will be good for our vegetable garden though.
It is time for another Papertrey Bloghop. This months challenge is to use the color yellow. I love bright colors so this challenge was a pretty easy one for me. This is what I came up with.
I have had this idea in my head for awhile now and was originally going to make it as an entry for this months guest start stamper contest but I never had time to complete it. Once I saw this months challenge I decided that this would be the perfect opportunity to finish it. I started with a teapot template that I got here and enlarged it. Next I folded a piece of Lemon Tart cardstock in half, traced the teapot template on it then cut it out leaving the fold at the top. When I was done with that I ran the front of the card through my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots Embossing Folder. After that I used my Nestabilities Label 1 dies to cut out the Summer Sunrise and Hibiscus pieces then I layered them on top of each other. I stamped the polka dot tea pot from the Tea For Two set on Stampers Select White Cardstock with Summer Sunrise ink then I cut it out and attached it to the Hibiscus label 1 diecut. When I was done with that I folded some Hibiscus bitty dots ribbon in half and placed it under the die cuts then I added some vintage white buttons on top of the ribbon with glue dots and sewed them on with some new Rustic Jute Button Twine. For the inside of the card
I cut 4 slits with my exacto knife then added the tea bag. When the recipient takes the tea bag out they will find this sentiment.
That's it I hope you like it. I am looking forward to seeing what the other ladies have come up with. As always thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a good night.

Pink Saturday

Today I am starting something new on my blog. I am joining in on Pink Saturdays. You can read more about how it started here I originally found out about it through my friend Jennifers blog. Red is my favorite color but pink comes in a very close second. I also use a lot of pink in my work and it is a big part of my everyday life too so I should have plenty of pink things to share with you. I think the project I am sharing with you today definitely qualifies though. It is the other project I made for the Spring Edition of the Rubber Road Ezine. This is another Domino Bookmark like that one I made here but this one was done with pink roses. The rose stamp is from Lasting Impressions With Panache.

You can find all the directions and a complete supply list for how I did it here. I also wanted to let you know that The Rubber Road Ezine has been revamped and is a whole new art loft community on the web. You should really check it out. It is free to join and if you decide to become a member tell them I referred you. These bookmarks are also up for sale in my Etsy shop if anyone is interested in buying one. That's it for now. The PTI bloghop is Monday night so I will be back with my project for that to share with you then. As always thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great Pink Saturday!

I will be back on Saturday to share the other project I did for the Ezine and to also share something new I am participating in then too so be sure to check back then. In the meantime I hope you have a great night and thanks for stopping by.

Technique Tuesday

It is time for another Technique Tuesday Video. This months technique is Vintage Aging. The directions and supplies are at the end of the video and you should be able to pause that part and print them out if you want too. If you can't view the video and still want to know how to do the technique email me for directions.

If you have any questions about the technique me know. I would love to hear what you think of the video too so leave me a comment. The finished card is up for sale in my Etsy shop as well.
I also wanted to do a quick health update for those of you that are interested.
I called both the oral surgeon and the dentist again yesterday morning because I never heard back from them on Friday. I finally heard back from the oral surgeon early afternoon. He was very nice and apologized for not getting back to me on Friday. I told him what was going on and he agreed that cancer does not come and go. He also agreed that was a terrible thing the dentist said to me and he didn't understand why she would say something like that either. After telling him everything that was going on he said he would call the dentist and get a copy of the photo she took last week of the problem when it was active then let me know if I should come in and see him. He did say that if the bone growth was the problem she was talking about they could take some bone out and look at it but we both didn't think that was what she was concerned about. At least I hope not because I don't want anyone cutting into the bones in my mouth just the thought of that freaks me out. So for now I wait for the oral surgeons office to get back to me. I will keep you posted on what happens next.
As always thanks for stopping by and I will be back with more stamping things to share soon.

Stained Glass Dragonfly

First off I want to say thanks to those of you that have emailed me and left such supportive comments here about my recent health issue. Your kind words, thoughts and prayers have really meant a lot to me. For those of you that wanted me to keep you updated I did heard back from my primary care doctor yesterday morning and she said that she did not think it was cancer either because the sore comes and goes but she had already gone ahead and started the referral to the oral surgeon. Shortly after I talked to her the oral surgeons office called and said they would see me without the referral being done on Monday but the problem with that is the sore is gone now. They were going to have the oral surgeon call me to talk about it but he never called. On top of that I am still waiting for a copy of the photo the dentist took on Tuesday when she saw it but they never got back to me about it either so now I have to wait until Monday to call both of them to see what is going on. I am trying not to worry about it until then but it causes me a lot of stress when doctors don't call back when they say they are going too. I will keep you posted on what happens.
In the meantime to help keep my mind off of all this I was going through some cards I had made in the past and found quite a few that I never posted here so today I am sharing one of them with you. This card
was done using the Alcohol Ink Press Technique from the April May 2007 Technique Junkies Newsletter. I think I used Lettuce, Stream and Butterscotch alcohol inks on but don't know for sure because I forgot to write it down. The stamp is from Impression Obsession. The light green strips were embossed with the Cuttlebug Swirls embossing folder and square silver brads finish it off. Final card size is 6x6. This card up for sale in my Etsy shop if anyone wants to buy it. I was also able to get this months technique video filmed today too. I hope to have it edited and ready to share with you on Tuesday so be sure to check back then. Thanks for stopping by and I hope the rest of your weekend is a good one.

Quilted Postcard and some other news

I hope you all are doing well. Unfortunately it has been a very stressful week around here. I went to the dentist on Tuesday for my six month check up and got some very disturbing news. As some of you know I have been dealing with unexplained mouth sores for over 2 years now. I have been to dentists, doctors, and an oral surgeon in the past to figure out what is causing them and have not gotten any answers but I was told by all of these people that they were nothing serious. Well Tuesday I had another sore in my mouth and when my dentist saw it she changed her mind about them. I didn't understand why she was suddenly so concerned about them now so I asked her point blank if she thought it was cancer and now she says it could be but then went on to say "if it was a bad kind of cancer it would have killed me by now". I still can't believe she said that to me. Needless to say I will be finding another dentist now but I have been very upset about this ever since. I am also in the process of getting another appointment with the oral surgeon I saw before for this but because I don't have dental insurance it has to go through my medical insurance first and that could take awhile. I am just praying that she is wrong and is just overreacting. Any extra prayers would really be appreciated right now though. In the meantime. I am trying to stay busy with my stamping to help keep my mind off of this

I have been wanting to make a quilted postcard for awhile now and finally had the chance to give it a try this week. It was a lot of fun to do and I hope to make more in the future. I started by stamping the open umbrella image from the Scattered Showers set with Black Stazon Ink on different colors of fabric. After that I cut them out and attached them to the background fabric piece with Stitch Witchery. When I was done with that I machine quilted the umbrellas with matching thread and then stamped the umbrella handles with black Stazon as well. I stamped the sentiment on the middle umbrella with Versamark and then embossed it with white embossing powder. I attached the quilted piece to a piece of maple wood veneer using heat and bond. Then I used the satin stitch to seal the edges. On the back of the postcard I drew lines for the recipient to write on. This postcard is up for sale in my Etsy shop if anyone wants to buy it.
As always thanks for stopping by and I hope to be back soon with good news about my health and more crafty things to share.

Happy Mothers Day

Happy Mothers Day to all the moms that read my blog. Yesterday it was a beautiful sunny day here and we went and bought plants for our vegetable garden. We got about half the plants planted yesterday and will do the rest over the next few days. Unfortunately it is a cool rainy day here today so there will not be any planting. It it just going to be another Sunday around here but that's okay though because I think everyday is Mothers Day so I don't need to do anything special to celebrate it. I am just so grateful to have been given the chance to be a mother and have a wonderful daughter like Emilia. I am also very grateful to have an amazing mother too. My mom is a very special lady and I am the mother I am today because of her. In honor of my mother I made her this card yesterday.

I started with this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch
I also incorporated Dawns color challenge this week too.
I colored the sprig of flowers from the Life set with waterbased markers then spritzed them with water and stamped them on hot press watercolor paper. I stamped the sentiment from the Heartfelt basics set with Smokey Shadow and Hibiscus Perfect match ink on hot press watercolor paper too. I used Hibiscus, Raspberry Fizz and Smokey Shadow cardstock along with a piece of patterned paper from the Raspberry Fizz Mix Paper Pack. Satin Hibiscus ribbon finishes it off.
That's it for now as always thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a great Mothers Day!

Lollipop Flower Pot

Sorry for not posting anything new in over a week. I ended up with another ear infection and fluid in my ears again on Monday so I did not get anything new made all week. I have had trouble with my left ear before but I have never had anything like this. I have an appointment with an ENT in June. I am just hoping I can hold out until then. Unfortunately with the insurance we have now it can take months to get into a specialist. If anyone reading this has any suggestions for how to get fluid out of my ears in the meantime let me know.
Now on to the details of the card.
I am part of the Sheteam which is a group of homeschool moms that sell their work on Etsy. Each month they have a challege and this months theme was flowers. I have had this idea for awhile now and thought it would be the perfect chance to give it a try. I started by drawing a flower pot on Kraft Cardstock then I cut it out. The next thing I did was to sew it onto the striped paper which is from the Memory Box Sugar Collection. When I was done with that I sewed some straight lines to create the pockets for the flowers. I created the flower pops by cutting out the flower shapes with my Cuttlebug flower die then I stamped the flowers and middles with images from the PTI Beautiful Blooms and Women of Life sets using Hibiscus and Berry Sorbet ink. After that I attached the flowers to lollipop sticks with glue dots and tied some thin hot pink ribbon around them. I finished the pops off by adding some Jelly Lifesavers that I had wrapped in plastic wrap and sealed with a glue dot then I attached them to the middle of the flowers and placed the lollipops into the pockets of the flower pot. For the sentiment I stamped the Celebrate image from the Women of Life set on some Vintage cream cardstock and added it to the bottom of the pot. Finally I added the flower pot layer using dimensionals onto some Hibisus and Spring Moss cardstock that I had sewed together with a zig zag stitch. The recipient can take the candy off the flowers and eat it or leave it for decoration.
The final card size is 5.25x5.25. This card is now available in my Etsy shop if anyone is interested in buying it. That's it for now. I have more things to share this week so be sure to check back. As always thanks for stopping by and have a great night.
