October Sketch For You To Try

Happy October! It does not really feel like October here though. It is in the 80's again and will be for the next few days. I usually love the heat but after the super hot August we had I am ready for some cooler weather. Today is also the 1st Saturday of the month which means it is time for another Sketch For You To Try.

This month our Sponsor is Waltzing Mouse Stamps.
I have been wanting to try Claire's stamps for awhile now and am really happy I finally got the chance.
This is the sketch

This is what I came up with

I chose to use the You're Lovely Stamp Set. I started by stamping the dress form image on Vintage Cream Cardstock. Then I paper pieced the bodice and added some tiny pearls to the middle. After that I distressed the edges sewed a border and matted it on Sweet Blush Cardstock. Next I added a piece of Spring Moss Cardstock that I embossed with tiny dots, sewed a border on then added a piece of lace on top. The floral background paper is from MadeByJanet's Etsy shop. I also added some roses I made using the Rambling Rose Cut File that I reduced to 50% and attached tiny pearls to the middles. Machine stitching finishes it off. Now you probably think this is just another card but it's not. It is actually a Folding Easel Box that I learned how to make from the Technique Junkies Fancy Folds and Motions CD.

There is also a drawer that pulls out which would be a great place to store vintage things.

Be sure to stop by the other sister's blogs and see what they have done with this sketch too.

Nice sketch and I love those flowers. Funny, I was making an easel box this week for a project I need later this month. Great colors and paper choices too.
