Birthday Wishes

Happy Saturday! It is a cold and rainy day here. I know I said I wanted cooler weather but I didn't mean this cold. It is only in the 50's. It is suppose to warm up again next week though. Today is also my mama's birthday. My sister and I got her a new Sirius Satellite Radio since her other one broke. I also made her this.

I saw these on Kim's blog a few months ago and knew they would make a great gift for her since she is always putting post it note reminders around the house.
My mom likes bright colors like I do so I started with Raspberry Fizz Cardstock for the base than I added striped cardstock from the Cosmo Cricket Delovely paper pack. I made the flower using Bloom Builders #3 die and a yellow button. I finished it off with a Hawaiian Shores saddle stitched ribbon, leaves embossed with tiny dots and some machine stitching.
Here is a photo of it out of the packaging.

I also took her this for lunch.

You can find the recipe here. It is delicious. I make mine with brown rice though.
That's all for now I hope it is warm where you are and the rest of your weekend is a great one.

Beautiful. Very colorful I am sure everytime your mom uses it, she'll smile & think about you. Those flowers are one of my favorite. Love how you combined it with the yellow button.
