Hearts

Happy Sunday! I hope your weekend has been a good one. I went to get new glasses yesterday. The last time I went was a real nightmare so I put off going again as long as I could. This time I went to an eye store which included the exam. So far it has been a much better experience and I found out that the doctor I saw last time was crazy. I don't need plugs in my eyes. I am just glad I didn't agree with what he said. Hopefully this new prescription will be more helpful too since I have been having problems with dizziness again. I have to wait 7-10 days to get them but will post photos when I do.
Today I want to share a couple of new projects with you. I am really into hearts right now. I have been wanting to make an iris folded heart card like the other iris folded cards I made last year for awhile now and thought this was the perfect time to do so. This is what I came up with.

This time I used this template. The patterned paper is from the Candy Cane Lane paper pack I didn't add a tag this time. Instead I stamped the Love sentiment from Tiny Tags and added to the middle. I finished it off with sweet blush ribbon tied in a bow, a Hawaiian Shores button, and machine stitching.
Keeping with the heart theme I also made this.

I have been wanting to make a heart pincushion for awhile now too. I made this one with a a combination of fabric and felt. I started by piecing together three fabrics I had in my stash then I added ric rac that I made with the PTI ric rac die and Hibiscus felt. I rotated the fabric then cut the heart out with a Nestability heart die using my Vagabond. After sewing it up I added a loop of pure poppy satin ribbon to the top so it can be hung, then I attached a Pure Poppy bow and a white button. Finally I finished it off with some white baby pom pom trim. Here is a photo of the back

I hope to make more of these in different patterns and colors. I also have some ideas for felt ones too. I hope to make some of those soon and when I do I will share them with you.
One more thing I want to share with you before I go. Emilia and I have really gotten into using Instagram. I have challenged myself to take a photo a day to help document the year. If you follow me on Twitter you can see them there but I will also be sharing some of those photos here on my blog too. Today I want to share this photo Emilia took of our fur baby Lily. I love how it came out. I had just given her a bath. Unfortunately she doesn't stay that white for very long though.

That's all for now. I will be back soon with more to share. I hope the rest of your weekend is a great one and as always thanks for stopping by.

Incredible heart projects. I really like that first one, but it looks like it would take forever. You must be very patient.

Your iris folded heart is gorgeous! I love that technique but have no idea how to do it. It looks beautiful but difficult! The pin cushion is adorable as is the photo of your dog! We have two mostly white dogs so I can identify with how great they can look right after a bath--then they run out through the yard and come back in with all types of leaves & twigs attached! LOL!

Terri, what a fabulous card! It looks so complicated to create. Your pincushion is so cute and your dog is adorable! I'm waiting on new glasses too; although my prescription was fine, after stepping on my glasses in September and straightening the mangle mess, the earpiece broke off last month.
