May Recap

Happy Saturday. I hope your month has been a good one. I know they say April showers bring May flowers but this May we had a lot more showers than flowers. It is finally starting to dry out and warm up now though.
The month started with us all continuing to be sick from the virus that started the end of April.  It was a really bad one but thankfully we all made it through it and are back to normal now.
We didn't do anything special for Mother's day because it snowed but I did get a cool new Iphone case and pj's though.  I had this card made for my mom. It is from the same person that made Emilia's birthday card. We took the photos on Emilia's birthday. My mom loves photos of us so this was the perfect gift. She loved it and now has it proudly displayed in a frame at her house. This was an extra special Mother's Day for her because she almost didn't make it to see another one. It has been almost a year since her medical nightmare happened. Thankfully she doing well now and back to her old routine. Her leg will never look normal but at least she still has it and it is usable.
Emilia is almost done with 10th grade but unfortunately she is going to have to do Algebra through the summer.  The Algebra 1 course she is taking has been extremely difficult because of this new Common Core. Neither of us has been able to help her much with it and Rich is good with math. She wouldn't even be taking this course if she didn't have to have it to get her diploma so we are getting her though it with the help of  tutor. It is still making her hate math though which is not good.
Rich's dad fell and tore both of the tendons in his quadriceps that attach the knees a few weeks ago. He had to have surgery on both of them and is immobile now. Hopefully he will be able to recover and walk again soon. It is going to a long road back though.
This month I have been working on a Garden Party Theme. I had a custom request for a shabby chic butterfly invitation and this is what I came up with . The SVG file is from The Cutting Cafe. The buttons were made with the new Button Stack Dies from Papertrey Ink.
I have some matching party decor items that go with it but are not done yet so I will share them with you next month. Until then I hope your last day of May is good one.
