February Papertrey Bloghop

Happy Saturday! I hope your week has been better than mine. I have been having problems with my health again specifically with my right arm and shoulder. I could barely move it a couple of days ago so I finally had to go to the doctor. I have been putting if off for awhile now because my husbands employer changed our health insurance and now we have to meet a $3000.00 deductible before things are covered 100%. That means we have to pay out of pocket for everything before that now which is not affordable for us. Unfortunately we don't have a choice though. My doctor thinks it is bursitis or tendinitis and gave me some new anti-inflammatory to try. Hopefully they will help. She is checking some other things too. Today is also the 25th of the month which means it is time for another Papertrey Bloghop.

This month the challenge was to make an interactive card. I love those. It was hard to get anything done this week because of my arm but thankfully I was finally able to finish it in time. This is what I came up with.

I originally had this idea in my head for a Valentines Card but since that holiday is over now I made it into a Anniversary card instead. I started by drawing the hill on some white card stock then cut it out. After that I punched 2 small circles then cut the track which created the template. When I was done with that I used the template to cut the hill out of the pink argyle paper from Amy Jaz Designs new Follow Your Heart digital paper pack

Next I attached it to another piece of white cardstock where I stamped the sentiment from Damasks Designs then I added foam tape and attached it to more patterned paper in the kit. The penguins were die cut and stamped. I attached the boy penguin with a die cut heart in his hand to a penny sandwich that I added to the track. The girl penguin is waiting at the bottom of the hill with a pink flower in her hair. I also added some die cut clouds that I embossed with tiny dots. I received my release night order late last night just in time to add the pull here image from the new Movers and Shakers Sentiments Stamp Set under the penny to help keep the boy penguin in place until it is time for him to slide down the hill. Birthday Skates

Happy Friday. I hope you had a good week. The big snow we got a few weeks ago is still melting at least I can see the street now. Thankfully we have not gotten anymore big snow but it is still cold here at least the sun is out though. I have been busy working on a custom order most of the week. I finally got it done and mailed out this morning. The customer requested an ice skating card for her 8 yr old niece. She said that her favorite colors were purple and pink and it needed to be very girly. This is what I came up with.

I started by cutting 2 ice skates using the On Ice dies and stamped them in black with the cordinating stamp. Next I covered the boots with angel dust glitter and the blades with silver glitter. Finally I added black floss to the laces and tied bows. The pattern paper is from this digital paper pack I added a Hisbiscus Ribbon tied in a bow at the top then attached a purple button threaded with more black floss and attached the tails to the skates so it looks like they are hanging. The sentiment from Birthday Basics was stamped on a double ended banner diecut and stamped with the coordinating image. 2 purple rhinestones finish it off. I am really happy with how it came out. Sending Thanks

Happy Friday. I hope your week was a good one. We ended up with over 15 inches of snow from the storm last Friday. We got another couple of inches on Tuesday with more expected this weekend. I wish I could just fast forward to Spring. I hope the weather is better where you are. The roses from the Rosie Posie set were diecut,stamped and highlighted with Copics. The sentiment is from Year Of Flowers Violets. Machine stitching finishes it off. I am also entering this card in Rhonda's Thursday Challenge. This card is going to my friend June to thank her for this beautiful necklace she made me.

Hoo Hoo

Happy Friday! We are in the middle of a big winter snowstorm here. This is not anything new for us but for some reason it is making headline news. We have had a lot more snow than this before. I would much rather it to be 70 and sunny. Hopefully it will stop soon and melt fast. Emilia loves it though. This is a photo she took of the snow outside our front door this morning after she shoveled it.

Today I want to share this:

I have been wanting to make an owl gift box for awhile now and finally got the chance. I stared by creating a pillow box SVG file then cutting it out with My Silhouette using Kraft cardstock. I covered the box with scallop strips cut from patterned paper in Amy Jaz designs Fresh Start kit. When I was done with that I made the buttons for the eyes using an image from the Delightful Doilies stamp set and the button dies, then I covered them in Glossy Accents. The crown is made from an SVG file in SCAL covered in angel dust glitter and tiny pearls added to the tops. Pink Pom Pom Trim and Autumn rose satin ribbon was tied around the owls middle. Another hand stamped button and faux stitching finishes it off. I think these would make great gift card holders or party favors. That's it for now.
