September Peeps Challenge

Happy Friday! I hope your week has been a good one. We have been enjoying cooler weather here. It was a bit to cold on Wednesday, I had to wear my winter PJ's to bed because I was freezing. We were back in the 70's now though which has been great.
Today I want to share a card I made for Carol's September Peeps Challenge which is to make a card, project or gift set incorporating a fall/harvesting theme. It was also the perfect opportunity to make a Rosh Hashanna card as well to celebrate the Jewish New Year which begins September 28th at sundown. This is what I came up with.

Apples are not only a symbol of fall but they are also symbolic at Rosh Hashanna too. I decided to try Iris Folding on this card and really love the results. I started by converting this pattern into an svg file then I cut it out with my Circut using SCAL and Rustic Vintage Cream Cardstock. Next I did the Iris Folding using papers from the Cosmo Cricket Early Bird Collection. After that I added pieces of Aqua Mist Cardstock that I embossed with tiny dots to the middle and stem. When I was done with that I added a Fine Linen Saddle Stitched Bow with a Pure Poppy button and a tiny tag that I stamped, resized then printed the image from the Mazel Tov Set on. Finally I finished it off with a piece of Bazzil Cardstock and some machine stitching with aqua thread. I hope you will play along with us too. All the inspiration photos and information about the challenge are on the Peeps blog. That's it for now I hope the rest of your weekend is a great one and as always thanks for stopping by.

Gorgeous card! Haven't done iris folding for a very long time. Your apple is beautiful with all those patterns. Did not know it was a symbol for Rosh Hashanah. TFS and playing along.

Happy New Year to you. What a beautiful card. It looks like it probably took a long time to make. I am going to start a Jewish occasions thread on the PTI forum, and I hope that you will post this card there. We need to get some good ideas out there.

Fantastic, Terri! I love the iris folding technique (something I have never tried) done with those beautiful papers. It looks like it might be very time consuming but you do such an exquisite job. Love visiting your blog--always so inspiring!
