Happy Birthday Emilia!

Today is Emilia's 12th birthday. Where does the time go? She will always be my baby though! This year something she has been waiting for to happen finally came true. American Girl opened a store here in Denver last week. I bought her first American girl doll (Samantha) when she was 5. Every year we have added to her collection and now owns them all. Today we took her to visit the store with her cousin Alexandra.

Since the store just opened last week and it was spring break for the schools here it was quite crowded which was not good. There was a 3hr wait to get the dolls hair done so we passed on that. They did have a fun new feature where you could design a T shirt for your doll which they got to do. They also found some cute earrings for their dolls too. Unfortunately American Girl did not put a restaurant in this store which was really disappointing for Emilia but overall she gave it a 7 out of 10 and hopefully we can visit again in a few months when all the crowds die down.

Tonight we had my family over for dinner. Emilia got to pick the menu and requested turkey burgers, potato salad and Lemon Berry Trifle. I got this recipe from Suzanne in the Paptertrey Forum.
Overall she said had a great day and we did too!
