Compose A Card With Becky #9

Hi Everyone. Once again sorry for not posting anything all week. Time just seemed to get away from me again. First off I wanted to say thank you for all the concern and well wishes for my mom. She is doing better but she had a CAT scan earlier this week to look at her lungs and it turns out she does not have the Rheumatoid lung like they originally thought. They saw a small nodule on her lung instead and 1 on her thyroid too so now she has to go for a PET Scan and an ultrasound on the 3rd of May. Hopefully it is nothing serious. She has gone through something like this before when she went in for a CAT scan for her back and came out with them finding a mass on her ovary. Thankfully that time it was benign hopefully that will be the case this time too. I am trying to keep thinking positive but if you could say an extra prayer for her in the meantime that would be great!
Today I wanted to share a few crafty things with you. Last year on my birthday my mom bought me some really cool yarn. I was originally going to use it to just crochet flowers but when I saw this pattern for the sisterhood crochet blanket I decided I wanted to make it instead. After working on the pattern for the last year I finally finished it last week. This is how it came out.
It turned out to be the perfect size for a baby blanket. I don't know anyone that is having or has a baby right now but hopefully one day in the distant future Emilia will have a daughter that will be able to use it.
I also wanted to share my entry for Becky Oehlers Compose a Card Challenge this week.
I have not had a chance to participate in any of her challenges until now. I am glad I finally got some time to make something for this one though. This was the inspiration photo We are free to use any colors we want so I chose to use the bright colors in my blanket. This challenge also gave me a reason to finally use her Wonderfully Whimsical set too! This is what I came up with

I started by stamping the images from the Wonderfully Whimsical set on Stampers Select White Cardstock with Momento Ink. Next I colored them with Copics. After that I created the patterns on the colored squares using Damask Design and Polka Dot Basic Stamps because those patterns were in the photo. When I was done with that I piece them all together on Tempting Turquoise Cardstock then machine stitched them together using a small zig zag stitch and turquoise thread. To finish the card off I matted the quilted piece on Lemon Tart Cardstock. Final size is 5x5. I am still trying to decide if it needs something else or if I should leave it as is. I was thinking about stitching around the Tempting Turquoise and Lemon Tart pieces but thought that might be to much stitching then. What do you think? Overall I am really happy with how it came out. I think it would look great framed in a child's playroom. That's it for now. I hope to be back sooner this time with more things to share. I also wanted to let you know I am going to postpone this months Technique Video until next weekend and share it with my Papertrey Bloghop project then. In the meantime I hope the rest of your weekend is a great one and as always thanks for stopping by.

Gorgeous baby blanket. I, too, think it qualifies for Becky's challenge. Wonderfully Whimsey made such a cute card. I like your idea of wall art for it. Prayers that all will be well for your Mom.

Terri, I LOVE this! And it's funny, because I thought of using Becky's houses in this challenge and I went to her blog to see if anyone had done that yet, and I saw your card. And your card is SO INCREDIBLE I knew there was no way I could come up with anything to compare. I fully expect to see you among the winners ;)
