Thankfully Emilia and my dad are back to normal and this week has been a better one. They never figured out what was wrong with either of them. I am just glad they are both doing well now and hopefully things will stay that way.
Today is my husbands birthday. He likes to think of his birthday as just another day but Emilia and I made him cards anyways. This is the card Emilia made him
Normally Emilia does not like doing crafts but when I told her about the Bingo Blast Technique from the April/May 2009 Technique Junkies newsletter she wanted to give it a try and loved it! We had some bingo daubers from when she was little and they worked perfectly for this technique. She picked the saying stamp from Lasting Impressions With Panache because she hates the word Cool and thought Rich would think it was funny she used that word. I gave her a few suggestions about how to put the card together but overall she did most of it on her own. She even took the photo too.
This is the card I made him
Rich use to collect CD's but in the last couple of years he has sold most of them and started collecting records instead. He has a huge record collection now so I thought this card would be perfect for him. I used this weeks
Mojo Monday Sketch for the layout. I was trying to receate the pattern on one of his favorite record covers for the background so I used the Simple Green Technique from the TJ April 2008 newsletter. I made the record by cutting out a black circle from a plain circle Nestabilitie die then I punched out a white circle and stamped the birthday sentiment from the Around and About Sentiments Set on it. After that I punched a hole in the middle and added a silver eyelet. A piece of New Leaf twill ribbon finishes it off.
Emilia and I bought him records for his present. He said he did not want to do anything special to celebrate today and went to work. I asked him if he wanted me to make him anything special to eat and he said no but I made him peanut butter cookies anyways.
That's it for now. I am skiping this weeks Pink Saturday but I will be back tomorrow with my PTI bloghop post. Until the I hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by.
ETA: Rich came home early and wanted to go rollerbladding with Emilia. I went along to walk the dogs and take pictures. I thought I would share this one with you all.
