Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends! I hope your day has started out to be a great one even if you are not celebrating this holiday. There any many things in my life that I am thankful for like having a roof over my head and food to eat but the thing I am most thankful for everyday is my family including my fur kids. They are everything to me so today I am even more thankful that we can all be together. I am the one that does the cooking now and have for awhile. I don't mind it though because I like to cook. My mom, dad, sister, niece and her father will be over later to eat with us. I hope those of you that celebrate this holiday will enjoy time with your family today too.
In the meantime it is time for another Papertrey Bloghop.
This month the theme was to design a holiday tag or two using all of our favorite goodies.
This is what I came up with
I have been wanting to use Dawns's Ice skates from the
On Ice set for awhile now and thought this was the perfect chance to ink it up. I started by cutting a tag from
this cut file and
this digi paper then I stamped snowflakes from The Rustic Snowflakes set and embossed them with white embossing powder. After that I sponged on Antique Linen Distress Ink to give the paper a vintage feel and to make the snowflakes pop. When I was done with that I added a piece of aqua polka dot digi paper to the bottom and around the opening at the top. I die cut and stamped the ice skates on Stampers Select White Cardstock then I added silver glitter to the blades and painted Angel Wings Shimmer on the boots. Next I put the 2 together punched a hole than tied a piece of silver cording in a bow. Finally I added some more silver cording on the back to make it look like they are hanging. To finish it off I stamped the sentiment from Fillable Frames 9 and added a piece of pink seam binding from
this Etsy shop and baby popcorn trim from
this Etsy shop. I also created some packaging to put the tag in using a med glassine bag. I ran it through my Cuttlebug using the Sizzix dots embossing folder then folded down the top half and added some more polka dot paper and a button. I also stamped another snowflake and embossed it from the back.
I had a lot of fun making this tag and hope to make more of them in the future. I am also looking forward to seeing what everyone else has come up with now. You can see the list of all the participants on
Nicole's blog . As always I am very grateful for your visit and thankful for you stopping by.
