On World One Heart Giveaway

ETA: Thursday February 12th 2009.
First off I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all of you that took the time to visit my blog and enter my giveaway. I was so happy to see how many of you wanted to win the journal. I also enjoyed all of the sweet comments you left and meeting many new crafters in the process too. Remember that even if you didn't win the journal you can still buy them in my Etsy store. I also hope you will all come back and visit my blog again soon too. So without future ado. I had my daughter Emilia pick the winner this morning and the winner is:
ELIZABETH
I will be emailing you shortly to find out the name you want put on the journal.
Thanks again to everyone that entered and to Lisa for coming up with this idea. I look forward to participating again next year.

Welcome to the One world One Heart giveaway, a blog-wide giveaway event from January 19th to February 11th, 2009. The original idea behind this event is to bring bloggers together from around the world who may never ordinarily meet. It closes the gap of the blog community and enables us to interact, discover new and wonderful people, and in the process possibly win a prize or many prizes along the way. Last years event had so many participants and many connections were made because of it......friendships that are still going strong.
Anyone who leaves a comment here will be entered into a drawing to win a Fabric covered notebook like this with your name on it.

A winner will be drawn on February 12th so be sure to let me know how to contact you if you are the winner.
I hope you enjoy looking around my blog and get a chance to check out my Etsy store too. I am also happy to do custom orders for anything you see on my blog as well.

Thanks for stopping by and have fun blog hopping.

January Blog Hop

Tonight is another Papertrey Bloghop. The challenge this month was to create a birthday card. This is what I came up with.

I got the idea to make a flip card when I saw this video on Holly's blog for how to make one. I also used SCS Sketch #208 and this bedding for inspiration.

To make the floral pattern I stamped images from Floral Frenzy and Beautiful Blooms with the new True Black and Plum Pudding Perfect Match Inks on Stampers Select white cardstock. To create the polka dot patterned paper I stamped polka dots from the Polka Dots Basic Set on the new True Black cardstock then I stamped the polka dots from the Polka Dots Basics set with Snow White Ink. I matted the floral piece on a piece of Plum Pudding Cardstock then added some Plum Pudding ribbon in the middle of the card. Next I stamped the Happy Birthday saying from the Birthday Basics Set on a piece of Stampers Select White Cardstock with Versamark ink then embossed it with fine detailed embossing powder. After that I cut the saying out and matted it on a piece of Plum Pudding Cardstock then attached it in the middle of the floral piece. The pop up saying was made by stamping a sentiment from The Birthday Basics set with Versamark ink and embossed with fine detailed black embossing powder. I added a few small flowers from The Little Lady Set with Plum Pudding Ink. I cut the saying out with a sm rectangle Nesabilitie die and matted it on a piece of Plum Pudding cardstock that was cut out using a scalloped rectangle Nestabilitie die. I also cut a small slit in the right side of the pop out arm so I could attach the saying to the back of the card and display it open. This is something you could add if you want to. Finished size closed is 41/4x61/4.
Here is a short video with Emilia showing how the card works.
That's it, I hope you like it and this card has inspired you to make a card like it too. I am looking forward to seeing what the other ladies come up with now. As always thanks for stopping by and have a great night.

Edible Valentine Roses

Tonight is the January New Release at Papertrey Ink and this is my entry for this months Guest Star Stamper Contest. The catagory I am entering this project in is Valentine Treats. I started with a Large heart tin from PTI and following Debbie Olsons instructions I covered the tin with 2 different patterns of Razzberry Fizz Mix cardstock and Dark Chocolate Satin Ribbon. After that I lined the bottom of the tin with waxed paper and filled it with homemade mini Vegan Chocolate Cupcakes that I frosted with red icing then I decorated them with handmade roses using mini fruit roll ups and then I piped the leaves on.
After that I put the lid on and tied some Vintage Cream Satin ribbon in a bow on the upper right side of the tin then I cut out a heart from white coreboard using a Cuttlebug Babyfaced die and colored it with Raspberry Fizz Ink. I then stamped the Enjoy saying from the Mixed Messages set in the middle of the heart using Fresh Snow Ink. When the ink was dry I attached it to the middle of the bow with some Tombo Mono Multi glue. I had planned on entering one more project for the Forest Friends category but I have been dealing with ear problems the last couple of weeks and only had time to finish this one. Hopefully it will be good enough to be a winner tonight because once again there is way to much cool stuff being relased and I know I am going having a hard time sticking to my stamping budget. That's it for now. I hope to be back with more stamping projects to share soon. As always thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Happy New Year

Unfortunatley I don't have anything crafty to share with you today. I have a plan for things I would like to do with my stamping/crafting in the New Year. I have not started them yet but hope to soon and when I do I will be sharing them with you so stay tuned. I mainly just wanted to take a minuite and wish you all a Happy healthy New Year and also wanted to share a picture Rich took of Emilia and I at an outdoor ice skating rink we went to yesterday. As you can see when Emilia has her skates on she is as almost as tall as me. That's scary! :) Anyways I hope to be back soon with more crafty things to share. Until then I hope you have a great 1st day of 2009!
