FDBP Guest Designer Card Day 3

This is my third guest designer card for Pam.
I got the inspiration for this one here I did not have a 1 1/4" circle punch though so I used my circle nestie's instead. The frog, bee, and watering can are from Sally's Garden of Weeden set. The saying is from the SpringFlower-Tulips Tip Toe set. I colored the images with the TJ Penciled Twinks technique and did the AI float technique for the background layer using lettuce and stream alcohol inks. The back piece of cardstock is SU tempting turquoise. I finished the card off by adding some eyelets in the corners. Finished card is 4 1/4x4 1/4.
On another note I have been obsessed with the Bacholerette lately. I still can't decide which guy Deanna should pick though. I am pretty sure it is going to come down to Jeremy and Jason but I don't think we can rule out Jesse yet either. I personally don't think he is the guy for her but I don't think she is really into the other two guys as much as they are for her. I am glad she got rid of Graham though. Who is your pick for her?

Firecracker Designs By Pamela Guest Designer Card Day 2

This is the second card I made for Pam.
I started by stamping the cup from the Escape The Daily Grind set on PTI stampers select white cardstock with Adirondack Black Ink. After that I stamped the samll flowers on the cup from Sally's Garden Of Weeden set with SU Orchid Opulence ink to create the flower design then I colored the cup with My Copic sketch markers (YG 95 and YG93). When I was done with that I masked the cup and airbrushed behind it with a Cream (YR21)Copic sketch marker. The background piece was made with the TJ aged parchment technique. The Old Olive strip was embossed with the Cuttlebug Stylized Flowers folder. I used my circle nestabilities to cut and emboss the circles for the saying which I stamped in Versafine Vintage Sepia Ink on Creamy Carmel cardstock. I used Mary Jo's Lunchtime sketch week 17 for the layout. I matted all the layers with SU Perfect Plum cardstock and then finished it off with some brass colored brads. That's it hope you like it.

Exciting News to Share

Remember in my last post I said I had been busy working on a lot of things? The time has finally come to share them. Earlier this month I got an email from Pam at Firecracker Designs By Pamela asking me if I would like to be her guest designer for July. I have never been asked to be a guest designer before so I was thrilled to get that email from her and was very honored that she asked me. I have used her stamps in some of my past work before and really liked them so I was even more excited that this would also gave me an opportunity to use what I had. I don't know about you but I am really good about buying things but not so good about using them. Over the next few days I will be sharing what I created for her.
When you are a guest designer for Pam you get to choose a set of stamps. The stamps I chose were Sally's Garden of Weeden. Today's card was originally inspired by this card Michelle Zinfindorf made. If you have never seen Michelle's blog you definitely need to check it out. She does a tutorial almost everyday and her work is amazing. For this card I started by Stamping Sally in the middle of a 5x5" piece of PTI stampers Select white card stock with Black Versafine ink then I colored her with my Copic sketch markers. After that I went over her with a Versamark pen and embossed her with clear embossing powder. The next thing I did was mask off the garden area with post it notes and brayered on a layer of CTMH Autumn Terracotta ink. I then went back in and moved the post it notes to create the rows and sponged on SU Creamy Carmel and Close to Cocoa ink finishing off the rows by stamping the sprouting seedlings with SU Old Olive. I created the grass and sky areas the same way as the garden but only brayered on the first layer of the sky with Ranger Aqua ink the rest of the colors (Not quite Navy, Old Olive and Always Artichoke) I sponged on. To finish the scene off I stamped the fence and colored it with my Copics then I stamped the vines and flowers on the fence and colored and dotted the flowers with my gel pens. For a final touch I added some dragonflies. That's it. I hope you like it. Tomorrow I will have another card to share with you, until then have a good night.

June Blog Hop

Sorry for not posting anything in awhile. I have been busy working on a lot of new things but I can't share them quite yet. In the meantime tonight is another Papertrey Bloghop.
The challege this month was to do something with transparencies. I have done quite a few things with them in the past but I wanted to do something different this time. I was having a hard time figuring out what to do until my good friend Linda suggested making a pillow box and this is what I came up with.
I started by cutting out the pillow box pattern she gave me from the acetate then I scored the fold lines. Next I stamped the flowers with black Stazon from Lisa Johnsons new Flower Garden set. To add color to the flowers I did an old TJ technique called Stained Crystal. I painted the flowers with perfect match reinkers mixed with crystal effects to give them a stained glass effect then I added tiny pearls that I had from when I did nail art to the middles. After that I taped the box together with red sticky tape then filled it with lemon drops. To finish the box off I tied a yellow organdy ribbon around it. I stamped the friend sentiment from the same set on a cuttlebug tiny tag that I cut out of chipboard and colored with Lavender Moon ink then I attached it to the bow with cream ribbon. Thats it. Bitty Baby Blessings projects

Here are my entries for the Papertrey Ink Guest Star Stamper contest this month. These projects were made for the best baby gift category. Nicole had recommended a book for making baby gifts on her blog last month called B is for Baby: 26 Projects from A to Z by Suzonne Stirling. I checked it out from my library to see if I liked it and I did so I bought a copy. I got both of these ideas from the book but put my own spin on them.


My first entry is a baby quilt. I love quilting almost as much as I do stamping so I thought it would be a great idea to put the two together. I was originally going to hand quilt the stamped images on to the quilt but it took me longer to finish the quilt than I thought it would so I decided to fabric piece the stamped images and attach them with Heat and Bond instead. I started the quilt weeks ago so I would have pleanty of time to finished it but I ended up having major problems with the binding so I ripped it all out Thursday and just sewed a border instead. Even though it was a lot of work to rip the binding out I think it was worth it in the end. I like how this looks a lot better and am much happier with it now.

My other entry is a personalized baby frame. I started with a plain wood frame and painted it white. After that I painted a plum color over the first layer of white and then another coat of white over that so the two mixed together to get the light purple color. When that was dry I punched squares of Bitty Blessings Pattern Paper and pieced them on the inside of the frame so there was a border of light purple inbetween them. I edged the opening where the picture goes with the green strips of the elephant patterned paper, then I covered it all with a coat of Modge Podge. I finished the frame by personalizing it with Emilia's name and birthdate using the PTI Simple Alphabet set and black Stazon. This is one of my favorite pictures of Emilia. She was just a few days old when it was taken. I don't know where 10 yrs have gone but am really glad I have this picture to remember how little she was.
I am really hoping that one of these projects will be a winner because there are so many new sets I want this month it would be great to win one.

Paper Carousel and a Dancing Hippo

These are my entries for Melanie's Guest Designer contest. First is the carousel. I have had this idea in my head for awhile now and I was finally able to make it happen since Melanie has created quite a collection of great animal stamps now. Once again I waited way to long to start it so I worked like crazy the last two days to get it done. I finished it just in time though.
I started with a search for something that would make it really move. Music boxes came to mind so I started searching for music box parts. My search lead me to a man name Tony in California who sells them. He put together a platform with carousel music for me to use as a base. I found a template for the middle column and top edging and traced the outline of the patterns on white marker paper and cut them out, then I airbrushed those pieces. After that I created the design for the column and edging with stamps from The Angel Company and freehand then I colored the finished design in with my Copics. I used my Cuttlebug and oval dies to cut mirror images from silver Shimmer Sheetz. I did the same thing with red cardstock for the mirror borders. I used red plastic plates for the top and bottom of the carousel punching holes in both plates to put the straws that I covered with ribbon in. I colored all the animals with Copics and cut them out then attached them to the straws. I used stickles for decoration on the bottom of the plates, some of the animals, and the edging. I finished it off with ribbon tied onto another straw on the top. Below is a video that shows the finished carousel in motion.





This is the dancing hippo card. I have had the idea of a dancing hippo for awhile now too. It was suppose to be a tilt card originally but I couldn't get it to tilt so I just glued the back part of the hippo on to the cardstock to make it look like she was dancing thru the tulips. As you can see she is wearing a tutu too. The background is a past TJ technqiue called Magic Pattern from the Feb/March newsletter.
Finished card is 41/4x41/4.

Hopefully these projects are enough to give me the opportunity to be Melanie's guest designer. In the meantime I will working on finishing up my PTI guest start stamper entries and other design team obligations this month.

Mojo Monday Week 40/ Mojo Madness Challenge

This is my entry for Julees Mojo Monday Sketch challege week 40/ Mojo Maddness challenge . and Kristina Werners Color Inspiration Challege Week 10 from last week I also used the new AI Float technique that Ann Clark submitted to the newest Technique Junkies newsletter to create the coffee cup design. The coffee stamps are new from Firecracker Designs By Pamela I paper pieced the AI float background I made into the coffee cup and colored the coffee and coffee beans with my Copics. I also used the stripe Cuttlebug embossing folder on the Not Quite Navy pieces behind the main images. Finished card is 41/4x51/2.
