The challenge this month is to use office supplies in our projects. I had a hard time coming up with something for this challenge but this is what I finally came up with.
I have wanted to make a paperclip bookmark for awhile now and decided this would be the perfect opportunity. I started by making the fabric flower using Betsy Veldman's tutorial here When I was done I added a large Sweet Blush button and a pearl to the middle of the flower and some leaves using the small Delightful Dahlia leaf die and Simply Chartreuse felt. To finish it off I added a large paper clip to the back of the flower and then attached another paper flower to the back of that to secure the paperclip in.
The base of the card was made with Sweet Blush cardstock that I ran through my Cuttlebug using Tim Holtz's new Damask embossing folder. Next I cut a piece of Simply Chartreuse Cardstock and added a piece of lace eyelet to the bottom then I added a piece of linen ribbon to the top. After that I attached it to the embossed piece leaving an opening at the top. I stamped the sentiment from Alli Miles new Birthday Bash set then added some machine stitching. I finished the card off by adding the bookmark to the pocket. After the card is given the recipient can take the bookmark out and use it in a book.
A complete list of all the participants is on Nicole's blog you can see it here. I am looking forward to seeing what everyone else has come up with now too. As always thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great night.
