Papertrey February Bloghop

It is time for another Papertrey Bloghop. The challenge this month is to go through the Design Team gallery or any of the Design Team Members' blogs and find a project that is especially inspirational! Then recreate the project with your own spin, making it unique.
I my opinion everyone on the PTI design team is a paper genius and they all have inspired me at one time or another. Each one of them is on my blog list and I make it a point to visit their blogs everyday. Having to pick just one member for this challenge was not easy for me but the person that has inspired me the most lately is Betsy Veldman. I remember the day Nicole added her to the team. I had no idea who she was at the time but after seeing what she could do with Papertrey Products I started to find a lot of inspiration from her. I especially liked her use of bright colors because of my love for them too. There have been a lot of projects of hers that I really liked in the past but last week she shared this project and I was immediately inspired by it.
This is my version.



The first thing I fell in love with were the flowers. I was not sure how she made them but after doing some searching on the internet I think I finally figured it out. Since I didn't have a 2" scallop punch I found a SVG scalloped circle file on line then I resized it to 2" and used my Cricut and SCAL to cut 8 of them out of Vellum. When I was done with that I sprayed them with Glimmer Mist. When they were dry I folded them 4 times to create the petals then I attached them to another 2" scalloped circle that was cut from White Stampers Select cardstock. I added buttons to the middles instead of gems. The leaves were stamped from the Blooming Buttons Set then cut out and attached to the back of the flowers.
I also used the My Timeless Template Cash or Charge as the holder. I thought this was a brilliant use for that template when I saw it. In Betsy's version she omitted the pocket but I kept it in my mine. After I saw how springy the flowers were that I made I started thinking that the pocket would be perfect to put seeds in and thought this would make a great mothers day gift too. Because of that idea I stamped the inside with one of the new backgrounds from the Background Basics Tin Type Set, then I stamped the new Fillable Frame image with Hibiscus ink cut it out and added it. The sentiment is from the Blooming Button Bits set . On the outside of the holder I stamped the polka dots from the Polka Dot Basics 2 set on Summer Sunrise Cardstock with Versamark Ink then embossed them with white embossing powder. To finish it off I added a piece of Spring Rain Satin Ribbon and tied it in a bow.
That's it. I hope you all like it and I have done Betsy proud. I am super happy with how it came out.
